SETAREH

Setareh is a twenty-eight-year-old with four daughters. Satareh’s husband is an unemployed drug addict who tried to force Setareh into prostitution. Setareh resisted and her spouse hit her on the head and chest with a Qama and cutoff her nose and lips. She escaped with her daughters and left her daughters at an orphanage. With the help of the government of Afghanistan, she was sent to Spain and Turkey for surgeries on her lips and nose. The treatment process is not complete yet, but the government is not paying for the remaining treatments. Setareh suffers from the traumatic events of her life and lives in poverty.
